Privacy Policy — High Holiday Honors

Summary: We collect only what is necessary to run the service. We do not sell your data, use advertising, or track you across other websites. Congregation member names you enter are used solely to operate the honor-assignment features you control.

This Privacy Policy describes how Maor Intelligent Solutions ("Owner", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects the personal data of Users of High Holiday Honors at hhhonors.itorah.life (the "Application").

We do not collect: payment card details, analytics/behavioral tracking data, advertising identifiers, or any data from third-party trackers.

2. How We Use Your Data

To create and maintain your account and provide the Application features;
To send transactional emails — email verification, honor confirmation notices to congregation members, and billing-related alerts;
To process and reconcile subscription payments via Stripe;
To diagnose errors and maintain the security and performance of the Application;
To comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than operating the Service.

3. Data Sharing and Third Parties

Stripe (Payment Processing)

Subscription payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. We share your email address and a unique account identifier with Stripe to associate your payment with your account. We never receive or store your card details. Stripe's use of your data is governed by the Stripe Privacy Policy.

Email Delivery (SMTP)

Transactional emails are sent via an SMTP provider. Email addresses and the content of notification emails (honor assignments, verifications) are transmitted through this provider solely to deliver the message.

No Other Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with any other third parties, advertising networks, analytics providers, or data brokers.

4. Congregation Member Data

As a synagogue administrator, you enter the names and (optionally) email addresses of your congregation members into the Application. You are the controller of that data; we process it on your behalf to operate the honor-assignment features you direct. This data is:

Stored only within your account and not accessible to other users or organizations;
Used only to display member suggestions in the assignment interface and to send honor notification emails when you initiate them;
Deleted when you close your account.

You are responsible for ensuring you have appropriate authority to enter congregation members' personal data into the Application and to send emails on their behalf.

5. Cookies and Local Storage

We use one strictly necessary cookie (token) to keep you signed in to your administrator account. No tracking or advertising cookies are set. Please refer to our Cookie Policy for full details.

6. Data Retention

Account and congregation data — retained for the duration of your active subscription, plus a reasonable period after cancellation to allow for reinstatement, then deleted.
Server logs — retained for up to 90 days for security purposes, then deleted.
Billing records — retained as required by applicable tax and accounting law (typically 7 years in the US).

7. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including:

Passwords stored as bcrypt hashes — never in plain text;
Authentication tokens stored in HttpOnly, Secure cookies — inaccessible to JavaScript;
HTTPS encryption for all data in transit;
Content Security Policy (CSP) headers to mitigate cross-site scripting.

No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at admin@itorah.life.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you;
Correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
Delete your account and associated personal data;
Restrict or object to certain processing;
Data portability (EU/UK users);
Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at admin@itorah.life. We will respond within 30 days (or within the timeframe required by applicable law). You will not be charged a fee for exercising your rights unless your request is clearly unfounded or excessive.

EU and UK Users — GDPR / UK GDPR

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have additional rights under the GDPR / UK GDPR, including the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.

California Users — CCPA

California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, whether it is sold or disclosed (we do not sell personal information), and the right to request deletion of their personal information. To exercise these rights, contact admin@itorah.life.

9. Children's Privacy

This Application is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered Users of material changes by email or by a prominent notice within the Application. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
